Thanks to all who responded to my question about whether Levothroid
and Asacol were Gluten-free. All of the messages I received (see
below for all the responses) said they were indeed GF, so no worries.
"They are definitely gluten-free! I take both drugs and my gastro
people have put me on Asacol and know about my levothyroid."
"Yes, levothroid is gluten free."
"I have used levothroid for 9 years and have no problems."
"Asacol is still Gluten Free. My pharmacist checks all my meds for
me. I am on it right now."
And one respondant had some advice too (which I tend to agree with,
though asacol did help to heal the symptoms of my colitis):
" I was on asacol for awhile, but I couldn't see any difference and it
required so many pills per day I stopped taking it. I presume it is GF
however since my gastroenterologist prescribed it. I heard a few
horror tales about it too, but I am not much for medication. I think it is
better just to work through the diet and let your body adjust naturally
which may take some time." (Here here)
