Adrienne,
In the last few days, I've been aiming to get my protein intake to 10% or
less of daily calories (rest made of mostly fat) -- at first I tried to
achieve this over the course of the day ( but found that it was too easy to
take in too much protein). So I am now trying to keep each meal 10% or less.
This morning -- didn't want to eat too much because I had yoga -- I just
drank a little coconut milk (well below 10%) -- about 100 calories. For lunch
I had the previously described salad -- basically, I figure out the fat first
and then add protein that is 10% of fat calories. That was 3 1/2 hours ago
and I haven't eaten since. I take in somewhere between 1200 - 1500 calories
a day, so I'm trying to keep about 83 -85% of them as fat and 10% as protein
(rest are leafy carbs). I suppose I'm getting between 30 - 40 grams of
protein a day. Usually I take in probably 120 grams per day. Oddly enough the
30 -40 grams is not much less than the ADA recommends for the average woman.
I am still feeling 'warm' and I believe my 2 - 3 lb loss is real. I have
more energy than is usual for me -- I tend to slump in the afternoon.
Namaste, Liz
