-Hello Jana and Everyone,
Im new to the group and have been doing some paleo
eating for a short while. As for O.A. they are a
mixed group in terms of eating, diets and nutrition.
The goal of OA (as with all 12 step groups) is to
bring one to a state of spiritual and emotional peace
within the individual, thus removing the desire for
various addictions.Diet in general is not the focus.
They do have their own diet which many swear by.
However in most meeting you will meet people who are
on everything from low cal, vegetarian, atkins, etc.
Some wont even consider nutrition as their focus is
purely on the program.
However as with all 12 step groups tolerance and
individual acceptance are usually what one will
encounter.
I had been an attendee of OA for a bit. For me I came
to the conclusion that my metabolism needed to be
freed from toxic eating rather than a spiritual
catharsis.
Best Wishes and glad to have found this group!!!
