hi,
I think you can tell if you are in transmit mode by looking at the menus I
have only used echolink once so I don't remember though.  You will have to
make some changes to zone alarm to make it work the information should be on
the echolink webpage.  I had the same problem with the xp fire wall and was
able to make some changes to the configuration to allow echolink to work.
