New or used, for older stuff I'd say the Icom 275 2 meter, 375 220, and 475
440 multi mode radios are the most accessible by far, the IC-27 little
mobile is very accessible. For new stuff, the IC'2100H isn't too bad, it's
better with the PC programming software, but it isn't too bad for 2 meters.
I don't know about duel banders yet. The old radio whack HTX-212 was pretty
good too, wish I never got rid of that radio.
