Hi Brett.

I was speaking of the Kenwood TS-790, and yes speech is an option.  It uses
a VS-2 board.  If you find one of these rigs, and want the VS-2 board, I
have an extra one that I have no plans to use.  It isn't a mobile,
though.  It was engineered for serious weak signal work and for
satellite.  It is a fabulous radio, though, and very accessible.  You can
even set up the PL Tones without sighted assistance.  I love mine, and as a
nearly blind user, I've found it to be one of the more versatile multi-mode
radios out there.  I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.
