Nls is coming to this with a broad stroke and yes, there are many people out
there who would not be able to handle cds well and cd players have moving
parts and batery life is reduced by this but enhanced when there are no
moving parts. We need to remember that in addition to understanding how to
use something, there are also dexterity and other issues envolved. I can
see mailing out cds and having kids use them as frisbies.

Thanks for sharing this article. But what about DAISY? I use it
exclusively and love it! I hope that NLS is not abandoning it. Flash cards
are a good idea, but I have read a 30 hour book on one CD. To say that
blind people can't handle CDs is ridiculous, but flash cards are perhaps
easier to handle.
