I'm trying to connect a machine that cuts marble to a computer. The PC
has some form of CAD software on it as well as a huge digitizer. The
counter tops are designed and the design is sent to the cutter which
then cuts the marble tops.

For reasons only known to the manufacturer, the connection is BNC. It
doesn't look like its a NIC that can be changed, not that I'm going to
open it up and try it, this thing cost $250,000 and is as big as a
house.

I thought with a BNC converter I could just connect the PC to the cutter
with a crossover cable. Problem is the converter will not work with a
crossover cable. I'll have to use a hub or find a PCI NIC that has BNC
connector on it.
