I am aware of some who have a genetic problem with excess iron in their
blood. It is apparently more common in men than women; however, I have
known both to have this problem. My daughter had a boyfriend with this
problem and he had to go to the blood bank and have a pint drawn off
every 6-8 weeks. It wasn't usable for transfusions because of the iron.
He was at least a second generation to have hemochromatosis. I also know
an elderly lady with the same problem. Both of these individuals eat SAD
so I don't know if paleo would help with this condition or not.
