When I first went paleo and low-carb I was in ketosis most of the time for
maybe 5 months. Lost 30 pounds. Then I noticed that I could not get into
ketosis even eating only meat and fat; it just wouldn't happen.  I was very tired;
I started getting cold sometimes (even though it was August). I read later on this

list that long-term ketosis can do a number on your thyroid, and I think that's
what
happened. After many false starts I am evolving back to a "nearly" Paleo diet; no
dairy, beans seldom and then in soup, occasional rice or potatoes, and more fruit
especially in fruit seasons. This seems to be working. I got the "can't fool
Mother
Nature" kind of feeling; that being too strict on the low-carb caused a kickback
from
my body. I'm taking it easier now, and feeling good, seldom hungry, slowly losing
weight. Since I'm celiac, grains other than rice are never a part of my diet.
