okay, so just when I thought I was understanding which fats to eat, I'm all
confused again. I read a bunch of articles by Ray Peat (got the link from
this group) and he seems to advocate saturated fats (primarily coconut oil
and butter) and to say that unsaturated fats are the devil! Has anyone else
read his articles? It's all terribly frustrating. He makes it sound like
we're already getting too much unsat fat through animals fed bad foods that
we certainly shouldn't supplement with more (fish oil, flax seed oil, etc. -
BAD). He says saturated fats (but maybe only coconut oil and butter?) are
the best and gives all kinds of studies and scientific reasons. I despair of
ever making sense of it all, I really do.
