Hello! Well we got the third round of bloodwork back....all RAST tests were negative and the IgG is still high (78) *BUT* his IgA is low (12) so that, according to the NP, taints the accuracy of the other tests (the IgG and RASTs). His Trangluaminase test (another for Celiac) was only a 3, and his reticulin was negative. His alkaline phosphatase level is within normal range now, and they did it fractionalized this time, and what we found is that the liver levels is borderline high(his=56, norm is <57), the bone level is normal, but the intestinal level of alk phosphatase is high (24)?! Hmmmmmmm not sure what to make of that one! The NP didn't even mention it to me, just saw it when I got my faxed copy--guess its nothing to worry about.....she also didn't mention that the monocytes (in the CBC) were high (1085)?!
So, anyways, my question is: what next? we are still no further then we were 2 months ago.....skin prick tests for allergies were neg, RASTS were neg, transgluatimnase and reticulin were negative and IgG is high BUT none of this offers any conclusive evidence b/c the IgA is low!!!
Is the info I have been given, to the best of your knowledge, correct? Is the IgA being low a reason to think the other tests may be inaccurate? I spoke with the NP not the doc, and will ask the doc all this on 9/9 when I see her, but I want to go in there with the correct questions and suggestions.
If anyone knows what's next or has any info on the blood tests or has had a similar experience, PLEASE email me!!
We are still treating him as if he is dairy allergic, because he still gets severe stomach related illness after consuming a minute amt. of dairy!
Thanks for any info!
:)
