I have W2K installed with my ATI all-in-wonder and Soundblaster live
platinum and everything works great. Make sure you get the CD and license
for the W2K though, if he's selling you the computer with the OS installed,
then he should give you the OS CD and license as well.
Also, make sure you have the Administrator password so you can boot the
thing.

Subject: Win 2K Professional
Hi Everyone,
I am considering buying a computer from a friend that has Win 2K
Professional installed. I would like to install a Soundblaster Live
Platinum sound card and an ATI All-In-Wonder with video out AGP video card.
I have heard that NT based OS do not support multimedia activities as well
as ME. We transfer video tape and burn many CDs of pictures of our
Grandbaby and our Nephews play video games and make CDs when they visit.
Should I install our version of Win ME or will the 2K stand up to the
multimedia tasks? I hate to mess with the Win 2K when my friend says it
runs flawlessly, Lord knows I've had my battles with Win ME.
All suggestions and comments will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Neil Rogers
