That is my experience, too. I don't know how the coax length factors in, but
shortly after I put up my G5RV, I discovered that I had a lot more coax than
I needed to reach the feed point of the ladder line, so I snipped some out.
So I had to add it back. Now I have a small coil of coax at the shack end,
and it works okay again.
