The main thing with the gateway was for best explanation machine noise. We
tried several different microphones and didi some recordings and
playbacks. We still had a lot of static noise even with filters and
resetting the volumes gains.

Thanks for everyones suggestion. We bought a USB but on the first
install we have and IEEE error. I will try again Monday.
