When you computer first turns on, you should see it doing
a memory test and then probably list the drives on the system.
This is called the POST phase, the bios assures that all the
settings in it's CMOS are correct prior to beginning the BOOT
phase where the operating system loads.
As you turn on the computer and it is in the POST phase, press
the DEL key and it should open up the CMOS settings. In the
CMOS you will find an item called L2 Cache and you need to
disable it. The DEL key works on about 85% of the PCs out
there. If that does not work try turning off the power and restarting,
but this time press the F1 key, which is the second most common
access key to the CMOS.
Also understand that in the CMOS you can disable or enable both
the L1 cache and the L2 cache. You only need to disable the L2
cache in the situations where Win95 locks up during installation.
