It'll never happen. There's no way they'll ever take away 10-meter phone,
just for starters, and the whole thing is so totally radical as to break
completely with all past Commission practice, which tends to emphasize
gradual change, not revolutionary change such as this.

Subject: Ham Band Restructuring?

Has anybody heard some rumblings that the FCC is planning to try and
restructure the ham bands? I think the proposal will see phone be
restricted to80, 40, 20 and 15, while CW will be restricted to 30, 17, 12
and either 10 or 160. One of those bands, 160 or 10, will be reclaimed for
commercial and possible military use. As well, a power out put of 200w
will be the maximum.
