Try to find "C:\boot.ini" file. It is like this ones:
First boot.ini:
{
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(4)\WINNT
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(4)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect
C:\="Microsoft Windows"
}
The third row shows that Win2k is the default operatin system and it
it locates on the 4-th partition.
Second boot.ini:
{
[boot loader]
timeout=20
default=C:\
[operating systems]
C:\="Microsoft Windows"
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(4)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect
}
The third row shows that Win Me is the default operatin system and
it locates on the first partition.
However the simpliest way to change the default OS is the following:
Control Panel/System/Advanced/Startup and Recovery.
On this page you can choose the startup parameters you want to.
