Hi all,
Thanks to all of you who responded to my e-mail asking whether Millet was
safe. I got about 20 responses. Everyone agreed that it was a safe grain
for celiacs, although one person said the jury was still out. Two people
mentioned that vomiting is not considered a "normal" reaction to the
ingestion of gluten. Several listserv members mentioned that they reacted to
millet, even though it's GF. One said she had the same reaction I did (she
vomited). Some of you questioned whether the bread had some other grain in
it. The bread was from Deland bakery in Florida. They are a well known
bakery for many Celiacs. No, there was no other offending grain in the
bread. It's really disappointing that I had this reaction to millet. This
bread was (by far) the best I've tasted since going GF. Oh, well.
Thanks again,
Theresa in New York
