Thank you for your responses to my question about the term (42 Grain) on the Rice Vinegar ingredient label.  The term is a form of measurement and has nothing to do with the Gluten kind of grain.  

A couple of the responses are as follows:

4.2 grains means that this is the level of acidity in the product. 6.5 is about neutral. 

Grain is a measurement in this case.  Check out this page, and look
down to last table on the page, the top line.
