I've listed 6 Suggestions from people. Thankyou all very much for the
input. Mine is the first!

1.My Doctor seems to think it's hormone related, my Celiac sypmtoms have
puzzled my doctor so I'm now seeing a Nature Path and she is putting me on a
Vit B supplement to see if it is horomone realted. (Reese)

2.I am wondering if your water retention could be a separate reaction, as
an allergy to something. It sounds something like a possible
asprin/salicylate allergy. Salisylates are in many foods, naturally
occuring, and if you are eating many fruits and vegies, and especially
almonds, you may be getting a lot of it.

3.Did you have the antibody against thyroid check? This could be a
co-occurring issue. You overall hormone levels can be in the low normal
range, but still have thyroid problems beginning.

I have this too. I do not know if it is CD related or thyroid related. I
have a medication that I can take when I need it--it does help. Ask your
primary care doctor.

4.check out the 'Eat Right for your type' book by Dr. Peter D'Adamo.
Basically, his theory is that blood type determines one's immune system
reaction to not only the proteins in viruses and bacteria, but in foods as
well.

I did the diet (not as fanatically as my g.f. diet, however) and lost 7# of
water in less than two couple of weeks. I was able to determine that my
major problem foods were white potatoes and also potato starch (caused bone
pain) and milk products (caused water retention). I try to limit those two
items to infrequent small doses.

I'm not actively doing the diet at this time but I definited tend to tip the
scale toward more of the beneficial & neutral foods and do the 'avoids' less
frequently, more like a rotation diet.

5.You may be low in potassium. Potassium and sodium balance each other.
Stress, eating too much salt, dumps potassium from your system. At least
this is what I understood. Are you eating a banana a day? Or taking a
potassium supplement? I need to do one or the other now, faithfully.

Good luck.

6.I had the exact same problem for about 4 months and could not figure out
what it was. I went to my doctor, who was basically no help. I finally
turned to my diet and finally figured out it was caused by some food I was
eating. Heinz ketchup and buckwheat waffles. I eliminated both and the
water weight gain dropped within 1-2 weeks. I would reexamine your diet to
see if you are reacting to something. Good Luck
