Back in the early to mid-1970s I did pot and hash, and remember hash as being
kinda sickly sweet. Or maybe that's remember through a haze? But anyway, I
only smoked it a couple of times as we had to go all the way to Ft. Bragg to
get it, and it was a lot more expensive than pot. We could get pot anywhere
on campus and a "dime" bag got you a pretty big supply.
I stopped smoking pot when I graduated as I didn't want to do it again, and by
the time I encountered it again in grad school, I was totally against using it
any more. I remember a fellow grad student telling me to be careful as a lot
of joints were laced with PCP at the time and that scared me silly. Same
reason I never touched acid - I didn't want my head to get messed up. A good
friend of mine had dropped acid in high school and when I knew him in college,
he was still having bad flashbacks. Had to be pulled out of a soccer game
once because of it.
Same reason kept me off coke...I never wanted to even see the stuff.
