Ken,
I have been following yours, Kyle's and Kat comments. Here is what I
surmise from your comments sprinkled with a heavy dose of my own experience.
In my 40's and 50's I had a job and kids to support. I didn't admit at the
tine, but I felt trapped. I did not admit because that would not have been
macho. I look back now and recognize what was going on was mild to moderate
clinical depression. With all my professional training, I did not connect
anxiety with depression. In my mind, depression was the "blues" and you were
just sad. Now I see that anxiety is a hallmark of depression. Body aches and
pains at night would be triggered, or made worse, by anxiety. I concluded
this because these same aches and pains did not bother me most other times.
So, I guess what I am saying is, get yourself a good general physical exam,
tell the doc everything and see what he(she) thinks.
