You know,I don't think all of this "enlightment" is
coming from a moral stand-point but because the huge
baby-boom generation is aging and finding themselves
with their own health woes and need for accessibility.
Even if it isn't themselves in need of services, they
may have a parent they are taking care of or  finding
themselves raising a child with disabilities because
the  parent can't or won't ( that "sandwich"
generation as well). The BIG numbers are realizing
that the essence of who their loved ones are haven't
changed because of a disability. With that out of the
way, it can only be a  good thing as long as people
like Jack Kervorkian can no longer play on uninformed
and uninvolved peoples fears of "quality" of life.
