Kathy Jo, again you need to explore all of your options.

The reason I suggested braces or a walker is for support so you won't be so
liable to fall and injure yourself.  I strongly urge you to walk or move
about.  The more active you are, the better off you'll be. And have you seen
the braces they have nowadays?  They are so cool...! Wish they'd been in
those colours when I was a kid!
