You don't say whether this music is being streamed or is local. Streaming is
subject to all the vagaries of any internet connection.
You may also wish to close the minibrowser if it's open.

1. Do you have a Pentium? :)
2. Try increasing the priority in the preferences.
3. Increase the buffering to ~8 seconds in the preferences.

  When I surf the Internet, the music I am playing via Winamp gets very
spotty, i.e. there are breaks in the music, like I don't have enough
available memory.  But my P4 computer has 128 MB RAM, so it shouldn't be a
problem.  So it must be some setting in the software or in the CMOS, I would
