For Naturally Speaking 5.0 running on Windows 98, NT or 2000, we always
recommend doubling the manufacturer's minimum requirements. Voice
recognition software is very resource intensive, and you also have other
applications (specifically Microsoft Word, Internet Explorer, and an email
program) open as well, thus driving up the amount of memory needed to
process all these applications.

Does that help?
