EASI Online Course: Barrier-free Web Design June 5-30
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2 (WCAG2) delivered to your
computer over the Internet
Besides giving insight into these guidelines, the course will introduce
toolbars you can use to measure the accessibility of a Web site
WCAG2 is structured on 4 major principles:
• Perceivable
• Operable
• Understandable
• Robust
While the guidelines still deal with the technical Web design features
authors need to know and follow, the focus of the guidelines is not so much
on technical standards as it is providing the designer an awareness of the
needs of the Web user who has various disabilities. Understanding the
user’s experience helps designers make sense of the standards.
The course syllabus as well as online registration is available at:

EASI's mission is to serve as a resource by providing information and
guidance in the area of access-to-information technologies by individuals
with disabilities. We stay informed about developments and advancements
within the adaptive computer technology field and spread that information
to colleges, universities, K-12 schools, libraries and into the workplace.
