Hi all,
Yeh, they probably should, and they should also be more professional
in their display. What's a Volenteer anyway, eh? <sigh> I know I
must sound like a broken record, and I am truly sorry for this,
however, if you are transmitting an important announcement like this,
something that is coming from the government, you have no business
allowing such a typo to exist. there was also another typo in the
message itself. Who are these dingbats and why can't they at least be
professional enough to send a clearly written document?
If you're writing an email message on a regular mailing list, and it
is your own words, there's no need to correct your typing or
spelling. This is understood. However, and this is a big, big, big,
however, if you are sending out a press release, a professional
request to be cross posted, an official announcement of any kind at
all, you make sure it's typed and spelled correctly!
BTW, I have never, ever seen anything less than professional come out
of the officers of EASI. It's just how they are, they're
professionals! That's one of the reasons why I recommend them so
highly in all corners of the Net!
"Volenteers"???? V-o-l-u-n-t-e-e-r-s. Comes from the Latin
Voluntatis, "Gloria in escelcis Deo, et in terra pax hominibus, bonne
voluntatis!" "Glory to God in the highest and peace on earth to men
of ***good will***..." A volunteer is one who does something because
he/she wants to do so. I am reluctant to associate with an outfit
that is so disorganized. They might lose my comments, they might
abuse my good will by making me work long hours. I don't know. But
I'm going to think long and hard before applying. That I can tell you
all.
Ann P.
P.S., If you forward an important announcement and you find that your
contact has inadvertently misspelled something, it is your job as a
good friend and a professional to correct this error, quietly, quickly
and not to say a word about it. "He's my brother, he ain't
heavy...".
