Sigh, there is a slight error in the "cumbersome" procedure that I described earlier. The Find Again command is Shift + F4, not F4. 

1. Press Ctrl + F to invoke the Find dialog box.
2. Type an asterisk (star). The asterisk is the wildcard for any text. Press Enter to find a cell with text.
3. Cancel the search.
4. Press Shift + F4 to find again. 

You can use Shift + F4 as long as you don't change the search string in the Find dialog.
