hey, mary. thanks for the reply! i thought about trying to get my mom to
read it, but she's in one of her 'i'm too busy to read' modes. what i'm
hoping is that if it works for me and she notices the change, perhaps she'll
be more open. she wants to lose weight, too. i called my best friend laat
night about it and talked to her for about 2 hours. she said it sounded
perfectly sensible and she started to think of ways she can help me out. i
sort of work for her (she's the manager for an adult family home for the
developmentally disabled clients i care for, so she's in charge of buying the
food...she told me to make a list and she'd get what she can since i eat 2 of
my meals at work every weekday). she's also looking to get a different job,
so if she leaves i have a good chance of getting her position. if i do that
i get the adjoining apartment and i'd be in charge of food (i'd get all my
food free then). yup, i'm babbing again. :-P anyway, my friend was really
supportive, so i'm going to lean on her. she's rereading the Jean Auel
series, too, so she was saying what a coincidence it all seemed to be. :-)
