<<Question: can food allergens lead to hives?>>

Yes. Salicylates are a common cause of hives. A common salicylate is
aspirin, acetylsalicylic acid; others are in food dyes and food chemicals,
FD&C Yellow is the strongest salicylate. German
medicos first reported the results of salicylates which cause hives
(urticaria). Astonishingly, many American physicians have lost this
information and the
treatment of urticaria is complex and relatively useless.

An American physician, Lockey, publicized the information in this country,
and then his work was taken up by Feingold who failed to emphasize the
work done in Europe and by Lockey. However, he did an excellent job
of demonstrating that a no-salicylate diet relieves ADHD and other problems.

Since 10 almonds equal one aspirin then you have to have a food list, which
you can find at the website, or just type "salicylate" into www.google.com.

Here is a partial list.
