G'day G'day Marianne,

Here is the analysis of flax FIBRE from NZ grown flax.
Energy 959 kJ
Protein 30 g
Fat 12 g (7 g w-3)
Carbohydrate 1 g
Total fibre 39 g (17 sol. 22 insol.)
Sodium 150 mg
Potassium 1200 mg
Phenolic antixoxidants 1160 mg
(Vit E equivalent) 400 mg
Lignans 80 mg

There is also folic acid etc but I don't have figures.
Percentage of w-3 etc differ with average day length in the growing region.

I eat about 4 heaped tablespoons per day with 2/3 cup of berries stirred into a
porridge with hot water and have done so for the last two years. I am a T2
diabetic and find this berry porridge gives me excellent blood glucose control.
My A1c is 5.0. Blood pressure = 120/70 and blood lipid ratios normal. To put it
another way flax fibre and berries for breakfast works for me. Quentin Grady
