No Dave calling Jammeh is neither profane nor an insult, but I will
tell you what it could be though- It can be plain irresponsible, and
depending on the circumstances even libelous. One can understand to
some degree that Jammeh is a public figure therefore susceptible to all
kinds of vicious rumors. Nevertheless, Jammeh reserves all rights to
initiate legal actions in the State of New York against St. John’s
University. If it could be proven that there is a history of
malicious intent, and that G-L allows such false and reckless materials
be published without regard as to whether it is true or false, then St.
John’s University could be liable- N.Y. Times v Sullivan, 376 U.S. 254,
84 S.Ct.710, 11 L.Ed.2d 686.
Again to echo Jabou, one simply has to observe some self-restraint and
be more responsible on the assertions of facts which may humiliate,
defame or hold anybody to obloquy.
