The "rib" is not a happy bunny. Over here we have a splendid scheme
called Motability, which means the disabled get a new car off the
government every 3 years. Linda qualifies for this and her current
car comes to the end of its lease in 2 weeks time, at which point she
had ordered a brand new Peugeot 206 as her next car. In her current
car (a Renault Clio) the main adaption is an infrared gizmo which
controls the indicators, wipers, horn, lights etc., I had already
booked this in to have the gizmo removed, and phoned up this
afternoon to book the fitting on the new car, only to be told it
won't work on the latest model Peugeots (I presume they've gone
digital so her simple solenoid system is a heap of junk).

Since we've already signed a contract with Peugeot for the new car
worst case scenario is that they keep us to the contract and we end
up with a car that Lin can't drive!! (However I think I'd enjoy
writing the letter to their CEO on that one!!!). Worse thing is that
if that happened I'd have to fit Linda's gizmo to my beatiful 137mph
Skoda Octavia (like a VW Passat) and I end up with the girly 206.

Anyway, I've written to Motability asking for what options we've got
(suggesting we purchase Lin's current lease vehicle) since most other
options involve Lin being without a car for 4 months, drat!! All my
own fault - should have checked it was compatible before signing the
contract. Oh Well, put John Lennons "Imagine" back on, re-adjust the
rose tinted specs, and hey, we're back in the "Best of all possible
worlds".
