indeed it makes sense. I wonder if you can change the hot mail account
so that it places all mail in your inbox. failing that, you may have to
first set a rule for all hot mail to go to the inbox and set a set of
rules to be applied after that to sort your mail. What an annoyance.

Hi David:
Thanks for your in put.
When I used Outlook to set up my Hotmail account, Outlook created a
second
group of folders within the Outlook screen.
Now, I have a group of "local" folders (In, Out, Sent, Easi, etc), and a
group of "Hotmail" folders (In, Out, Sent, etc).
When I retrieve mail, I open Outlook, and all mail goes to the "In" box
within the "hotmail" grouping.
If I manually move all messages to the "In" box in the "local" grouping,
I
can apply all my rules at once, and the mail is sorted.
I have not discovered a method (within Outlook), to create a rule which
applies to the "In" box within the "Hotmail" grouping.
Hope this makes sense.
Jim
