Hello all,
I have had an S O S from staff supporting an early high school student needing to produce a PowerPoint presentation as part of his Business IT subject. I have to confess to not having done much in this area and being pretty ignorant regarding possible work-arounds, solutions or alternatives for some of the visual requirements. I have, of course, passed on general PPT guides (for sighted users), JAWS Specific Help info and keyboard shortcuts, but the dilemmas are in such areas as using text boxes, inserting hyperlinks, drawing shapes and inserting/manipulating pictures and graphics.
My response is that many of these aspects are next to impossible without sighted assistance and that it is fair and reasonable for the student to prepare textual content, be taught and explained the concepts and overall design aims and outcomes and to participate as fully as possible in creating the design ideas, even if he has to have a teacher aide do much of the actual slide creation. Would anyone with experience in this area agree or have any suggestions, please, which I could pass on to them?
Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in anticipation.
