Has anyone had experience with more severe migraine headaches
on a non-gluten diet and found solutions or help?
I was biopsy diagnosed CD two months ago, age 61, and am feeling
much better without gluten. I'm finally able to gain weight.
I have allergies to most 'outside' things as well as using bedding
covers, etc. inside. Also sensitive to MSG, wine, red apples, etc.
Migraines have been part of life since age 12. I've been on low-dose
Paxil as a headache preventive for the last 9 months which reduced
severity to using only one aspirin free Excedrin to banish a headache.
Frequency has continued as often as 5-6 times a week, however.
Since I'm eating non-gluten I am having much difficulty relieving the
headaches--several Exceedrin (containing aspirin) don't always help.
I don't do well with Imitrex and some of the other migraine meds.
I hesitate to use so much aspirin because of past anemia
(had an iron infusion at CD diagnosis for severe anemia).
Also concerned about so much caffeine in the Excedrin because
of osteopenia (thin bones). An MRI of the head last October was
normal. Also dealing with low back pain--x-rays for that were normal.
Will summarize answers.
This list has been a great help in learning to manage life with CD.
My thanks to you all for all the good past help, and any ideas here.
My head, and my husband, would greatly appreciate your help!
Jan
