I have a friend who has Windows XP Home Edition on her system and a Hewlett Packard 880C printer.
The problem is that despite being shared - her Windows 98 machine cannot see the printer. There are no Permissions options under the properties of the printer. The 98 machine can see all other shared directories.
If we try to add additional printers for the 98 machine in the properties for the printer on the XP machine it will not accept them because it says the driver does not have an approved digital certificate. This aside it should still be visible if it is shared and it is.
HP's site says that XP comes with suitable drivers and that they have no other driver for the printer.
Can anyone shed some light on what could be wrong please and how to remedy it.
Thanks in advanced.
Regards Roger Griffiths.
