My own choice has been to stick with Win98SE, so I don't have any direct
experience with WinME. To add to what some of the others have already
contributed, I would think about partitioning your hard drive, so you can
install Win98 on the first partition and then reserve the second partition
for a later install of WinXP (or Win2K, if you prefer). You may find that
older hardware isn't fully supported under WinXP, so keeping Win98 around
will be useful in the transition from it (or WinME) to Win2K/XP.
