The fan on my power supply went dead a few days ago. The system would shut
down all of a sudden when the power supply was too hot. I have 3-4 hard
drives, 2 CD/DVD/RWs, 5 PCI cards, 1 AGP card on my system, and I will
upgrade to a Athlon 1.4G (Duron 600mhz currently). I need a new power supply.

I have seen 300W, 350W, and 400W ones. It higher the W, the more expensive
it is. And I need AMD recommended ones too. Instead of blindly purchasing a
400W power supply, I'd like to calculate the exact W my system needed by
looking at the total watts needed from all my components and future expansion.

What are the formulas involved and where to find the power requirement on
my devices?

Thanks in advance,

Changhsu Liu
