Once I upgraded to Win XP, I have been having problems with my screen brightness. I have gone through microsoft tech support to no avail. When my computer is turned on the screen brightness is so dark I can hardly see the screen. I can go into the display prorety and brighten it myself but any time I launch a program that controls the brightness itself, it reverts back to the baseline(default) settings for my video card. How can I change my default brightness and gamma settings for my video card so that this won't keep happening? I never had this problem till I upgraded to Win XP from Win 98. I even replaced my video card. Still same problem. Microsoft tells me that the Motherboard is incompatible with XP. That sounds like a cop-out to me since they can't solve the problem. Any help appriciated on a solution or how to change the default brightness. System specs: P3 933, intel board, 256 ram, GEforce 4 440mx video card.
