My guess is it's a fan, the most common failure I've seen with fans is that
the hub develops a small crack, this causes the fan blades to hit the outer
cover. The sound usually goes away after a few minutes because it simply
shaves off the small amount needed to NOT cuase the blade to hit. Eventually
though the crack gets bad enough that the blade always hits. TTYL
