Hi Terrance.
If you have no documentation for the machine you might be able to determine
who made the motherboard from the BIOS ID number. When you boot the machine,
note who made the BIOS. Go to the site of the BIOS manufacturer, and they
should show you what the ID string looks like. By looking at a certain part
of the ID string, you can determine who the original manufacturer of the
motherboard is. From there, you can look on the motherboard makers website
(if they have one) or email their tech support to find out what the memory
specs are.
