I was able to eliminate the CMOS "I/O Conflict 2F8" error by changing the
setting for the second serial port to "Disabled". Now the system can not
detect a modem? I went through though the process of adding a modem. It
went through that part fine. But, then when it attempted to detect the
correct modem (instead of selecting it from a list) it said windows can't
find a modem installed. Can a modem be added when the second serial port is
disabled?
Is there another CMOS setting that needs to be changed?

Also, the CMOS is not keeping the changes I made when I reboot?
