I upgraded my wife's computer recently from a P3-450 to a P3-700.

I don't use this computer, so I can't attest that the following
symptoms happened after the upgrade, but here's what she's seen:

1. Her Handspring Visor no longer syncs. (I have verified that USB
devices do work, however.)

2. Burned audio CDs produced _very_ poor music quality. Lots of static
and hiss.

3. Her CD-RW backup software intermittently fails.

My general question: Can upgrading a processor cause these things?

The processor I bought is a P3/700Mhz/100Mhz. It is the OEM variety,
which means that it had the holes and stumps necessary on which to
hook the original processor's heat sink and fan.

The RAM is PC133, which has never been an issue while running the
450mhz. Truth be told, I don't know whether the 450 was a 100mhz FSB
kind, but I've not been able to find a 133mhz 450mhz p3. Perhaps there
isn't one.

Thoughts anyone?
