I have that hard drive and a Soltek mb and it didn't happen to me.

Trying to install some Maxtor 40 gb HDDs-model 4D040H2, something arre has
ocurred in some of them:
When you try to install eg W98 SE, the HDD is recognized by the BIOS and the
installation ends OK, but when you restart the PC, the model recognozed is
MAXTOR ROMULUS and the system is not available: the HDD is not useful any
more.
This happened with mobos like MS 5368L, Shuttle HOT 681V...
¿ Any comments or advice?
