My thanks to both ??? and Rick G who kindly responded some weeks ago to the
subject dilemma. Not long after I posed the scenario I set it aside and
have not really gotten back to it. I tried the Western Digital website and
some of their installation tools. I also swapped cables and combinations of
cables and dip switches. Nothing I did got the CD up and running inside the
OS. And since it has (temporarily) become a moot point, it sits on the
sidelines until I get time to revisit it. I'm not sure what I'm doing (or
not) but thanks for the support. If someone can offer other insights I'd be
grateful.
