  The Internet uses TCP/IP.  While it is possible to use other
protocols over a dial-up connection, this requires that the dial-up
host be set up for them -- a dial-up host for any other protocol is
almost certainly not, by any common definition, an ISP.

  NetBIOS is an API for network services ("Windows networking") which
can be served over TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, or NetBEUI.  It is sometimes
recommended that it be bound to some protocol other than TCP/IP to
avoid revealing information about your Windows systems to the
Internet at large (which does not, generally, offer support for it,
but may include villains interested in exploiting such flaws).
  NetBIOS may or may not be bound to TCP/IP, without affecting the
ability to connect to common Internet services such as web, email and
FTP.  There is no way to bind NetBEUI to TCP/IP.
