Thanks for the help.  I'll try that if I haven't already found the problem.
I think it may have something to do with the USB hub and the USB devices.
Even though they all worked fine together for a week or so this problem
started.  When I unplugged the USB hub and HP mouse started working
correctly.  I'm getting ready to try the cordless again.  I hope I've found
the problem.  If that's it, then I'll have to find a remedy.  Thanks again.
